Last week, Congress passed a new and depraved version of the totally misnamed and misleading “The Patriot Act.”  Many Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives opposed it…but not nearly enough.   Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas), in his remarks to Congress, called it the “Last Nail” in the coffin of what used to be called “The American Republic.”

Actually, as we have pointed out throughout our book The Last, Lost Empire, it is just another step towards tyrannical rule by the ruling “elected corporate oligarchy.” It virtually vests all war-making and unfettered police powers in one of the most oligarchic branches of the federal government: The Presidency (now more clearly than ever: The Imperial Presidency.).

Below find a short YouTube video of his official warning.  Ron Paul is truly today’s Paul Revere.  But is anyone listening and ready to battle the global corporate fascism being thrust upon America—with most Americans almost totally unaware of this dismantling of their greatest political treasure: The Bill of Rights?

Ron Paul has announced his intention to run as a Republican for the presidency in 2012.  The U.S. mass media ignores him and focuses upon political neophytes and ambitious politicians such as Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman.  If he does not win enough primaries to get the Republican nod (a huge probability) then he becomes available to run with real Civil Libertarians and other opponents of this new autocratic regime that is destroying America’s democracy, its bare-bones welfare state, and its and the world’s ecology.

It is time for those “progressives” and “liberals” in America to unite behind the honest and true leadership of Ron Paul and begin the first true and independent third party in American politics in the 21st century.  People like Ron and Rand Paul, Michael Moore, Ralph Nader, Bernie Sanders, John Conyers, Rachel Madow, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Oprah Winfrey, The Libertarian Party and The Green Party need to come together, find common ground, and rally their friends and supporters.  Time’s running out.
